Preparing ahead and sticking to the plan...

Just simply doing what we planned to do saves us alot of panick and stress...

Be it personal commitments, work commitments or academic commitments, if you know that you need to do something always try be all means to avoid procrastination. As they say, 'procrastination is the thief of time' and you will always regret not doing what you had to do on time, while you still have time. By waiting and leaving what you have to do for last minutes will only add more stress and frustration that it would have if you had attempted to do it while you still have time to even pace yourself.

Here is what I've learned from procrastinating and some of the changes that I had to make from the consequences:

1. Work/school deadlines/submissions

If you know that you have an assignment that needs to be completed and submitted by a particular date, plan ahead and firstly decide on the time you believe you will need to complete the assignment.

If you have two weeks before the due date and  you will need atleast a week to work on it, stark working on the assignment at the beginning of the week by breaking it down and doing parts of it each day where you would have finished it as the week comes to an end and will have more time to make final touches and submit your work with confidence

2. Tests/Exams

If you have an upcoming test/ exam

Prepare well in advance to avoid panicking close to the day of the test/ exam. You don't want to go into the exam room with anxiety as this will only frustrate you leading to mental block or not remembering anything that you revised. Leave the last day before the test/exam date strictly for revision knowing you have covered everything that needs to be covered.

3. Personal commitments such as doing groceries/laundry/buying an outfit for an even

A small commitment such as doing laundry on Friday because you need be somewhere on a Saturday can lead to stress if you don't do it when you were supposed to do. In this case you might not habe anything decide to were to work or school on Monday because its already Sunday evening and you didn't do your laundry as you had planned when you had time.

Not picking what you want to were and ironing it in the evening will cause alot of stress in the morning because mow you have to do it rushing and get to work or school late just because you procrastinated and didn't follow through with what you had planned to do.

So, planning well in advance can be applied to every aspect of our lives and can be very helpful making our lives easier and less stressfull.

It doesn't mean you have to force yourself to do everything all at once, take time to rest and get on with what you have planned and break it down if you cannot do it all in one day...

Plan while there's still time, do it as planned, and trust me, you will thank yourself later...

Rather safe than sorry...

Working on doing better because I am also guilty of leavig things for the last minute πŸ™ˆ

Have we achieved the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year and if not, how far are we ? At this stage of the year, it is important to reflect on your personal growth and see if you need to make any changes to anything to improve on what you are not entirely satisfied with.  How can we make this reflection: 1. Take time out of our busy schedules and write down what you have achieved in terms of the goals that        you have set for yourself and what have not you achieved and the reasons for not achieving these goals. 2. Once you have took note of these, celebrate yourself for those achievements, whether big or small, pat yourself on the back as it may have not being easy. 3. Then ask yourself why you may have not achieved you other goals and see if you  can still work on...

As the academic year comes to an end...

Reflecting on this last semester... As the academic year comes to an end, most of us are filled with fear of the unknown, anxiety, stress, anxiousness and maybe joy that the year is finally coming to end because we can all agree that a break from academics  is much needed. Some may be stressed about examination preparations and some look forward to working harder to scoop those distinctions that they have longed for since the beginning the semester. A few tips: Try by all means to start studying now for you examinations, preparing early makes it way much easier for you when the exam season begins. Preparing well in advance allows you even much more time to consult with your tutors and lectures for clarity on anything.
