Welcome to Simply Kopano's blog:

Who is Kopano?

My name is Kopano Masuku, and I am born and bred from the North West in a small town called Rustenburg. I am a Scorpio (23rd of October) and would like to believe that I am free spirited cheerful individual that enjoys and appreciate the simpler things in life hence the tittle of the blog called "Simply Kopano".  I enjoy listening to music, watching movies and spending time with friends in my spare time. Fun fact about me is that I am actually the life of the party and share jokes, but I am surprisingly an introverted, shy and quiet around those who do not know me. I am a student at the University of Johannesburg and thus see it fit to blog about my experiences as a student in general and share my academic journey for those who can relate as well as sharing lifestyle content including health and wellness. Amidst all that is going on in one's life, one needs to find a balance and find coping mechanisms and I would like to engage on mental wellness as well.

My interests:

My academics keep me very busy and require me to constantly read up on literature and to keep myself updated and on par with my courses in order to maser my competences. Though it sometimes gets hectic and becomes a handful it often results in one becoming passionate about a particular course and constantly wanting to learn more and sharpen your competency skills. I thus have interests in particular courses. My interests currently lie in search engine optimization (SEO) and its significance in the corporate industry. SEO is a course that I am currently completing for this academic year, and I hope to learn the knowledge and skills required to enable me to enhance a website and its content within the modern connected environment. At the end of this course, I hope to be competent enough in optimizing and enhancing a website and its content to ensure ease of finding and ranking it on search engine results pages. Most importantly, I hope to use this acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies in the corporate world by offering my expertise in consulting firms as well as my own firm/company which I aspire to establish.

Thank you for taking time to get to know me.

Love and light,

~Simply Kopano~

As the academic year comes to an end...

Reflecting on this last semester... As the academic year comes to an end, most of us are filled with fear of the unknown, anxiety, stress, anxiousness and maybe joy that the year is finally coming to end because we can all agree that a break from academics  is much needed. Some may be stressed about examination preparations and some look forward to working harder to scoop those distinctions that they have longed for since the beginning the semester. A few tips: Try by all means to start studying now for you examinations, preparing early makes it way much easier for you when the exam season begins. Preparing well in advance allows you even much more time to consult with your tutors and lectures for clarity on anything. Consultations with lecturers are sometimes beneficial because the lecturer gives you light in he right direction of what to focus on and how to approach questions in the exam. Avoid by all means, cramming your work as the lecturers want to test your understanding and ...

Preparing ahead and sticking to the plan...

Just simply doing what we planned to do saves us alot of panick and stress... Be it personal commitments, work commitments or academic commitments, if you know that you need to do something always try be all means to avoid procrastination. As they say, 'procrastination is the thief of time' and you will always regret not doing what you had to do on time, while you still have time. By waiting and leaving what you have to do for last minutes will only add more stress and frustration that it would have if you had attempted to do it while you still have time to even pace yourself. Here is what I've learned from procrastinating and some of the changes that I had to make from the consequences: 1. Work/school deadlines/submissions If you know that you have an assignment that needs to be completed and submitted by a particular date, plan ahead and firstly decide on the time you believe you will need to complete the assignment.  If you have two weeks before the due date and  you ...
